Functional Wellness

Functional Wellness considers the body on a cellular level and as a whole - all things within the body are connected and should be treated that way. That is why Functional Wellness uses a holistic approach and considers signs and symptoms as red flags that something is not right within the body. To determine the cause for your symptoms and imbalance(s), Functional Wellness looks at: diet, lifestyle, stress management, environmental exposures, nutrient deficiencies, mineral imbalances, unhealthy relationships, and unresolved trauma. Functional Wellness is a continuous process involving consistent daily practices to reach optimal health.

That is why I created 1:1 Functional Wellness. Where I work virtually to help men and women get to the root cause of their health issues.

*I do not order labs for the general public. You must be a client.

Common tests

*Test recommendations are dependent on your symptoms and any test imaginable can be ordered.

Comprehensive Bloodwork

Blood can be seen as the window into the body. There are two main types of ranges in the field of blood chemistry: A pathological range and a functional range. The pathological range is used to diagnose disease. This is based off the population as a whole and the sicker the population gets the wider the lab reference range becomes. Most healthcare providers believe that care should only be provided when disease is present. If pathology or disease is not present according to the labs, the person is considered "healthy" and labs are considered "normal." This is why a lot of people are told their blood work is normal but they still feel terrible. The functional range is much more narrow (this is what I use) and it is used to assess risk BEFORE disease develops. I'm looking for imbalances, deficiencies, and asking WHY is something out of balance and causing symptoms. I view the body as a WHOLE and consider all levels of wellness when determining the above.

GI Map Stool Test

Digestion is the top healing priority of the body. You are what you digest and ABSORB. What you absorb depends on a healthy digestive tract. Without the integrity of the digestive system, the body cannot support the other foundations of health. A GI Map Stool Test looks at all aspects of digestion. - How well you are breaking down your foods. You can eat the best diet in the world, but are you absorbing all of the nutrients? - Pancreatic function. How well you break down protein, carbs, and fats. - Gallbladder function. How well you break down fat. - Inflammation markers - Immune function. 80% of the immune system is in the gut! - If you have any pathogens (bacteria, H. Pylori, viruses, yeast, candida, parasites, bacterial overgrowth). - If you are making gluten antibodies in the gut. - How well you are detoxing hormones (estrogen) and environmental toxins, plus so much more. This is important for hormone balance. Most people don't realize the impact the health of the gut has on the body and it shows differently in everyone (digestive issues, weight loss resistance, joint pain, bloating, constipation, acne, migraines, anxiety, etc). Sometimes you have ZERO symptoms but still need some gut healing or to improve overall digestion. Things like antibiotics, poor diet, alcohol, stress, toxins, mold, and pesticides...can all take a toll on the gut.

MRT Food Sensitivity Test

This test measures how strongly your immune system reacts to 140 different foods and 30 different chemicals. This can help you understand even the most mysterious food sensitivities. You can eat healthy, but if you're eating foods you're uniquely sensitive to, you will struggle to find optimal health where you feel great. Removing these sensitivities is an essential step in healing your gut and reversing possible autoimmunity as reducing the cause of inflammation allows your gut lining to heal. And it isn't enough to simply KNOW your sensitivities, the magic happens when you have the correct blueprint and system, that shows you how to actually use the findings to get RESULTS.

Organic Acids (OAT)

This is a urine test that offers a comprehensive metabolic snapshot of a patient's overall health with 76 markers. It provides an accurate evaluation of intestinal yeast (mold & candida) and bacteria. It also includes markers for vitamin and mineral levels, oxidative stress, and neurotransmitter levels. It includes markers for oxalates, which are highly correlated with many chronic illnesses. High levels of intestinal yeast or bacteria can cause or worsen behavior disorders, hyperactivity, movement disorders, fatigue and immune function. Many people with chronic illnesses and neurological disorders often excrete several abnormal organic acids in their urine. The cause of these high levels could include oral antibiotic use, high sugar diets, immune deficiencies, acquired infections, as well as genetic factors.
